About Mark Maggiori 

Born in France, a country deeply rooted in the traditions of Impressionism and Romanticism, Mark Maggiori has brought a distinctive European sensibility to his powerful portrayals of the American West. His work combines dramatic storytelling, atmosphere, and a remarkable understanding of the Western landscape and its people.

Mark’s artistic education began at the Académie Julian in Paris, where he developed his foundation in fine art. His creative path later expanded into animation and visual storytelling through his work with Walt Disney Animation France. Before establishing himself as a painter, Mark also gained recognition as a musician and filmmaker as part of the French metal band Pley mo, serving as its singer, photographer, and music-video director.

His connection to America began at a young age, when he traveled across the country at just 15 years old. Years later, he returned to the United States and eventually made his home in Los Angeles and Kingman, Arizona. It was in Kingman that his fascination with the American cowboy and Western culture evolved into a serious artistic pursuit.

A pivotal visit to the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City profoundly influenced his direction as an artist. Following that experience, Mark began creating his first cowboy paintings, launching a body of work that would become recognized for its cinematic quality, emotional depth, and compelling vision of the American West.

Today, Mark Maggiori is celebrated for bringing a fresh, contemporary perspective to western art, blending his European artistic roots with the spirit of the American frontier.
